The Lesson Horses II
What better way to learn to ride than on a horse schooled to teach?
Prince Victor (Victor)
Our
rescue horse. Victor is our regal Arabian prince! Victor
was found in February 2008 at an equine rescue about 400 pounds
under weight, with long dirty matted hair, chipped hooves, and
had never been to a dentist in his 18 years! He was scared,
nervous and HUNGRY. We decided that this horse needed us
and we took him on as a project for our students to learn about
the real care it takes to keep a horse. We provided him with
all the medical attention he needed as well as all of the love
we had in our collective hearts. Victor is the personal horse
of our head trainer's daughter, Courtney Pierce. His kind and
gentle nature has won the hearts of all who have helped care
for him. We know that he is happy and feels loved. UPDATE
(8-2-08) Victor was cleared by the vets to attend the California
State Gymkhana Championships where he earned the title of State
Highpoint champion for the FC 12-40 division. Oh how far
you have come!!
Minnie Me (Mimi)
Mimi joined Pierce Farms in June, 2008. She was purchased for the lesson and camp program with our young riders in mind. Mimi is a barn favorite with her steady temperament and kind disposition. Mimi is a paint pony who is always ready and willing to teach our young riders how to become confident and comfortable whether riding English or Western in the arena or on the trail. She is also no stranger to the show ring having shown and won several blue ribbons in English Pleasure and most recently, Gymkhana events.
